ESPN.com recently had an article on examples of dating disasters involving athletes. I love hard-hitting journalism!
I note this gem from Boston Bruins defenseman, Johnny Boychuk:
"One time I went on a date and the girl I was with had a voice that was so annoying that I just had to leave. I couldn't take it. Her voice was the worst. It was like a raspy high voice, kind of like the woman on that show 'The Nanny' (Fran Drescler), but it was higher than that. When I talked to her on the phone, she didn't sound like that. But that day, wow. I had to get out of there. I think I went to the bathroom and just left."
What the...?!
This guy just split without notice because her voice was not pleasing to his ear but otherwise there was nothing else wrong with her? So she was not worthy of a ride home?
Wow!
You know, maybe Elin doesn't have it so bad after all.

Almost reminds me of Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr's take on Fran in The Man with Two Brains. She's the hooker that doesn't mind if she's injected with window cleaner. Dr. Hfuhruhurr finds her attractive but she has annoying voice.
Go rent the movie.
Gonna have to.
Not sure how I could have missed something like that.
As I recall, due to the role, Terri Garr had some voice problems in Young Frankenstein obscuring some attractiveness.
Now I'll have to go and watch that again.
"Put the candle back." Classic.
