Wow! Tons of tributes on my facebook page to veterans today!

While I am very appreciative of the sacrifices made by all our veterans, to be honest, we are just not very "military" here. Actually, we are pretty "civilian".

To maybe change things up a bit this Veteran's Day, this year I pulled out our supply of little green army men and set them up in battle formation in the living room. I even gave the U.S. forces a sizable advantage in troop numbers and equipment over the "enemy" who were in fact American Indians who only had bows and arrows.

The kids didn't care. They thought the stuff was in the way!

(I will say that the asterisk worries me a little. Can the Grenada vets participate? It was more of a "raid" than anything of course but they "won". What about those CIA guys that trained the Bay of Pigs forces? Can they at least get an appetizer or something?)
