Red Rover was a game for sissies! If you wanted to do real damage, you needed to play jacks! I killed 3 people that way.
We have gone so far beyond simple games like Red Rover. Look at parkour where any building structure is worthy of leaping on and off. Oh that looks-to-be decapitated guy failed to learn the hooking your arms over the others' arms technique.
Charles Darwin would have called it "survival of the fittest". I bet the game was the inspiration for his writings.
