This incident happened in my city of Edmonton. My car was parked close by where he was setting cars on fire, but luckily he ignored mine for whatever reason (we were attending a play when this occurred).
The identity of the hero has never been discovered. He is simply known in our city as "Hawaiian Shirt Guy." There are various memes praising his valour.
