The only time "N" gets any attention is when people refer to the "N word".
Not easy being "N".

I always pronounce the "n" in "badminton" -- we're taught correct pronunciation in Canada *self-righteous sniff*
In my own quest to become as Canadian as posibble, I always make sure to pronounce the middle "N" in "Tim Horton's". Errrr.....well forget it.
Actually, in China and North Korea, it's usually batmintons, but now it's really-bad-minton, cheat-minton.
Or 'badquittin".
