All jokes should be numbered

I mean it is just WAY too much work for s stand up comedian to get in front of an audience and tell a bunch of jokes. With all those words!

If jokes were numbered, you could just say "26" and wait for the laughter and then go onto the next number. Sounds almost too efficient.

If you think of a brand new joke, simply apply for a new number at the patent office and then work it into your routine. If for some reason an audience member is not familiar with the new joke/number, just tell them to be more current on the "joke front". Or just hand out a Joke Number Manual beforehand.

Where's the flaw?

I'm tellin' you, we're doing this wrong.
