I NEVER EVER saw some somebody dodge someone by running frantically through the kitchen.
It's one of those "only in the movies" things.
I did once see a chef kill an opossum with a fire extinguisher blast though.
When we went to get the extinguisher refilled, the guy at the fire extinguisher place asked us if we had a fire, and we said no.

Now that you mention it, I can only think of about 10 movies where the main character is NOT chased through a hotel kitchen knocking the staff over and making a mess.
Spanning all genres too including action, drama, comedy and probably even sci-fi!
