Those girls look too cheery to be goth, and there's not enough mascara, plus they're smiling and talking to each other.

Where is it taken? Baltic somewhere?
I was going to guess Finland, but then there'd be twelve more letter A's in the town name on the sign, half of them with umlaut, half without.

Yes, no doubt, stretching the definition of "goth" on this one. Sometimes I, and others, use the term "goth" to describe something confusing or something our minds just can't comprehend.

The picture was taken somewhere in France.

ok, I now understand your goth references, lol. I thought maybe goth meant something different in the midwest. French, eh? I had it all wrong. I so totally thought Estonia/Latvia type thing.
