Tribute!

One of those "cool" parents who hosted/allowed all kinds of underaged drinking parties for their teenage kids "back in the day".

I'm glad my 'gang' had one of those, otherwise a few of us probably wouldn't be here. We were going to party anyways, and if we didn't have a place to do it, it most likely would have been in one of our cars.

Of course we were stupid ... we were kids, we had to learn WHY is was stupid.

I can recall these situations when I was in high school. The parents didn't collect the car keys or anything and just partied with the kids and the kids either slept the night or drove home after drinking.

Forgetting all the other issues, I think I would be terrified of getting sued and losing my house if one of the kids hit a light pole but it just didn't seem to be an issue as I recall.

Times were different for sure. Today, somebody would sue you ... even if nothing happened. In this case, the parents didn't party with us or provide any party materials. They just let us hang in the basement. We had a bathroom, a fridge, couch, stereo, TV and a pool table. For the most part we stayed there.
