On a serious note, I think it "comes with the territory" in this job considering nobody else has the techinical expertise to step in from outside and handle this at the plant and the end result of abandoning the plant is probably catastrophic. This is probably something they know "going in". I am sure they do not "go down with the ship" but it might be close to that.
