Can't say I've heard of her. Better get on Google.
She is a Russian born American emigre novelist/philosopher who developed a philosophical system she calls "objectivism". She has a fanatical "cult following" here in the States primarily among FAR right anti-government conservatives.
I would describe her philosophy as the "justification of selfishness" but that is just me.
There are a ton of quotes from her out there and I had to search high and low for one that I remotely agreed with.
Thanks for that, I didn't bother going on Google.
