Martin Luther King

Born on today's date, Martin Luther King.

"All I am saying is simply this, that all of life is interrelated, that sometimes we are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly."

"We are taking the young black men who have been crippled by our society and sending them eight-thousand miles away (Vietnam) to guarantee liberties which they have not found in Southwest Georgia and East Harlem."

And for another viewpoint:

"I just don't remember it as being that bad" - Mississippi Governor, Haley Barbour recalling the 1960's civil rights struggles (December 2010)
