Every culture makes Jesus in their own image. I have no problem with that but I can also imagine what an Aramic Jew from the Middle East would have looked like and it would be quite far from "white".

Excellent point, my friend. I especially like it when Jesus has blonde hair and big blue eyes.

Whoops.
Substitute "Aramaic speaking" for "Aramic".
Something that deserves to be "right".
No problem. Read it so fast, I didn't notice. We just finished a series of messages at church - where we tried to make the *story* very real.
Mary and Joseph - YOUNG parents
Stable - probably pretty stinky
Magi from East - drew a lot of attention
Shepherds - poorest of the poor
There were other "real" examples, but the pastor was quick to point out that Jesus did NOT look like Ralphie from A Christmas Story.
'nuff said.
Oh. . .and sorry about travel plans going awry. Sucks.
I like that.
We Catholic should loosen up like that in mass but that is just not in the cards.
Thanks on the travel issue.
We're probably TOO loose sometimes, but they've not kicked me out. So, I can handle "loose."
As it were. . .
