An ESPN column by P. Forde included this line regarding the sanctions at USC:
It shocked Lane Kiffin, who left a great job in the best conference in America for the captain's chair of the Titanic.
I see that Pete Carroll also claims to be "shocked". Neither of them should be nor do I think either of them are. I also see that in addition to losing 20 scholarships a year, that this year's juniors and seniors can transfer to other schools without penalty. It looks like USC will be down for a long time and maybe a decade. I wonder if Kiffin is looking for an exit strategy. "Deja vu all over again".
