NBC-2.com (Fort Myers, Florida) reports that a man, Irving Edwin Howard was arrested earlier this week for stripping naked in the Indigo Room bar and refusing to leave.
Apparently, Mr. Howard came into the bar without shoes and he was asked to leave by the bartender. Mr. Howard refused to leave and then took off all of his clothes and went into the woman's restroom.
The bar of course called the police who entered the restroom and asked Mr. Howard to come out. Mr Howard reportedly began screaming and approached the officer at which time the officer used a taser on him and all that screaming and other stuff abruptly stopped and Howard fell to the floor in a very energized state.
He was charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, resisting without violence and trespassing.
You know, I don't watch whole lot of television but I have seen that show "Cops" once or twice and one thing I do know is that when the police encounter a naked man who is refusing directions, the tasers come out. Like always.
In the police manual on the "naked guy" page, I bet it says "Get the taser!"
I don't know that a naked man can injure an officer any more than a fully clothed one can but I bet that it is the "handling" factor that is the problem here.
Not second-guessing that here.
"Get the taser!"

I wonder how low the officer was aiming?
It probably wouldn't be a very big target though that could vary.
